Prices include a substantial continental breakfast (yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs, muffins, pastry, and lots of juice, coffee, and tea). 

Inn Magnolia has free wifi, which is accessible from most guest rooms and all common areas, and basic cable TV in the Annex.

Inn Magnolia offers beach passes (subject to availability) to a nearby private beach, as well as discount coupons for other beaches, selected restaurants, whale watches, movies, and other attractions. We are also an outlet for the "SEA IT ALL" Gloucester Passport. Please inquire about these and other special packages.

*Charlene's Room, which has a king-sized bed, cable TV, is larger than other rooms in the main house, and is immediately next to the bath, is $125 during high season, $110 during shoulder season, and $80 in the off-season (when available).

**Rooms in the house are only available in the off-season for groups taking three or more rooms.  This includes all of the rooms with shared baths, so the rooms with the lowest rate are not always available during the off-season.  Please inquire if you are interested in these rooms.

POLICIES:

Check-in & check-out times: Check-in time is 3-6 pm. If you need to come earlier or later, please make explicit arrangements--in advance--by phone or email. Our front desk is not staffed 24/7, and is not possible for guests to check themselves in to rooms in the main house. If you absolutely cannot come when the front desk is staffed, you must make your reservation for a room in the annex. Check-out time is 11 am. Late checkouts without prior arrangement may result in charges of up to a full night's stay.

Cancellation: Please give two weeks notice of cancellation to receive a full refund. Less than two weeks notice will result in a charge of up to 50% of the total amount that would have been due for your intended stay (minimum charge: one night's stay). For groups of three or more rooms or stays of a week or more, a minimum of one month's notice is required for cancellation without penalty. If you are having a special event and have a written agreement with us, please check your agreement for the cancellation policy that will apply  to you.

Minimum stay: We have a two-night minimum on high-season weekends only. There are no minimums at other times. Sometimes we waive the minimum for a weekend a few days before, if it looks like we will have availability - feel free to inquire.

Occupancy: Prices quoted are for single or double occupancy. Additional occupants (in rooms of adequate size) are $10/night per person ($15/per person after 1/1/12). Under no circumstances do we permit more than four people staying in a room, and certain rooms can only accommodate two or three.

Gratuity: It is customary to leave a few dollars per night for the housekeeping staff when you check out.  Beginning November 1, 2011, a gratuity of 7% will be added to the room rate for parties of three or more rooms, or for four people in one room.  This will apply to all groups (e.g., wedding parties, family parties, etc.) regardless of whether rooms were blocked in advance for the occasion or reservations were made separately by the guests. Of course, when this is applied, we would not expect you to tip as well.

Children: Children are permitted (within the occupancy rules) but please keep in mind that if your children don't sleep through the night (and until a reasonable hour), nobody else will either, and that will make us all very unhappy. Please do yourself and others a favor and do not bring children who are not accustomed to traveling. Additionally, we have a strict rule that children must be attended at all times by a parent or a close relative; babysitters are not permitted.

Pets
: With our most sincere apologies to our responsible pet-owner friends/guests, we no longer offer any pet-friendly rooms. We're sorry, but of the guests who brought their dogs we had an astronomically high rate of difficulties. We don't understand it either! And, of course, there were exceptions! Stowaways will be ejected and will incur a $300 cleaning fee.  Please note, however, that we do have cats ourselves, and while they do not go in the guest rooms, they do wander about the common areas and snooze in the living room.

Smoking: Smoking is not permitted inside the inn. We provide ashtrays outside on the porches. Smoking in your room will result in a $300 cleaning fee.

We apologize for having to have so many rules and regulations. As you can probably guess, all of these rules have sadly come about as the result of true life experience!
